Inking with a brush instead of a dip pen, because “try new and uncomfortable things” is how we do things around here. (see also: karaoke, starting conversations with attractive strangers, and putting pomade in my hair.) Exciting line variation and texture, but tough for the unsteady-handed.

Found one of your Cabin Pressure pieces and now drooling over the rest of your art. I'd like to hug your watercolors.

Obviously I’ve been too busy to post anything useful lately but I hate this trend so much that I felt the need to actively spend time on how much I hate it. Is this just an NYC thing or is it everywhere? They’re like the color of tongues. All I see when I go down the street is endless pairs of walking tongues.

Right, so in addition to nine-to-fiveing for The Man I also part-time for this awesome little start-up called Writer’s Bloq. We’re basically a platform for forming an online workshopping community for writers—here’s an article on AWP that explains things further.

On Thursday we’re doing a reading/mingling at The Strand in Manhattan and there are still some tickets around so if you’re in the NYC area and into storytelling and drunk literary types, come say hello! There will be beer from Brooklyn Brewery, snacks, tea tastings by Argo, raffles to win some fancy swag and a stay at the unthinkably cool Library Hotel, ink portraits by Our Hero, and the opportunity to awkwardly introduce yourself to me as being “from the internet”. Did I mention TEA TASTINGS? Also there will be an afterparty at the Revival Bar around Union Square.
